Why convert GIF to JPG?
GIF is limited to 256 colours, which is fine for simple animations and icons but produces low-quality results for photographs and complex images. Converting a photographic or full-colour GIF to JPEG gives full 24-bit colour depth with significantly better image quality and often a smaller file size.
