JPG has no alpha channel, so any transparent area is filled with a white background. If the logo or cut-out needs to sit on a coloured page, keep the PNG or convert to WebP instead.

PNG is a lossless format ideal for graphics, logos, and screenshots. But for photographs and complex images, JPG produces far smaller files — often 5–10× smaller — with barely noticeable quality loss. Converting PNG to JPG is a fast way to reduce file size for web upload, email attachments, and social media.
JPG does not support transparency. When you convert a PNG with a transparent background to JPG, transparent areas are filled with white. If you need to preserve transparency, convert to WebP instead.
The quality slider controls the JPEG compression level. At 90–100% the result is visually identical to the original. At 70–85% file sizes drop significantly with minimal visible degradation. For web thumbnails and previews, 75% is often sufficient.
