Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) requires applicants to upload a recent passport-size colour photograph in JPEG format. The dimensions must be 200×230 pixels with a file size between 20 KB and 50 KB. The photo must have a white background and the candidate's face must be clearly visible. These specifications are uniform across RRB NTPC, Group D, ALP, JE, and RPF recruitment cycles.
Photos are frequently rejected for incorrect dimensions, file size outside the 20–50 KB range, coloured or patterned background, wearing caps or sunglasses, blurry or pixelated image, and using a photo that is more than six months old. Resizing correctly to 200×230 px and keeping the file within the specified range prevents most rejections.
RRB applications require two separate uploads: a passport photograph (200×230 px, 20–50 KB) and a signature (140×60 px, 10–20 KB), both in JPEG format. This tool handles the photo resize. The same 200×230 px photo specification is also used by SSC, IBPS, and SBI applications.
